Happy New Year! This has been the busiest January that I’ve ever experienced. Calgary and surrounding areas have caught up to the other provinces and we are now seeing multiple offers on just about every listing that comes to market.
*sidenote* This means you literally can’t underprice a home, but the funny thing is, you can overprice it, and it will just sit on the market.
We are facing a major inventory shortage and this is leading to fierce competition. And guess what? The condo market is finally starting to heat up! This means that if you have been sitting on the fence, thinking about listing your condo, the spring should be a very good time to get going.
For the detached home sellers, the trickiest challenge is no longer whether your home will sell, but rather where you will go when it does, which means a lot more strategy is now required to ensure you don’t end up homeless or priced out of the market. Expert advice and guidance are needed now more than ever, my friends. And of course, I’m happy to help!
Is anyone else doing dry January?
Along with drinking back a nasty protein shake while I type this, I’m shelving alcohol for the month. While at first, it seemed daunting, I’m starting to think it’s exactly what I need. Habits, I’ve discovered, can be both good and bad. It’s just as easy to get hooked on both. So this month is about healthy habits and a clear head when I know I need it. The biggest change I’ve noticed in the last 10 days is that my energy level in the morning is significantly better. Two glasses of wine a night make me a groggy morning person. But everything is in moderation, right?
I received Chrissy Teigan’s latest cookbook as a Christmas gift and I’m really enjoying her recipes, I find it’s mostly an Asian twist on popular recipes (Cottage Pie, Beef Stroganoff, etc). It’s called Cravings: All Together. I heard that her Mom also has a recipe book that’s excellent, which I’m going to check out.
Have a great month!
(Non-alcoholic) cheers,
Natalie
